What is paint protection film?

Paint protection film, or "clear bra" as it is sometimes known, is one of the best ways to preserve the showroom quality finish on your vehicle. The virtually invisible film will keep your vehicle looking newer longer, without changing the design features or color- by protecting vulnerable areas such as front bumpers, hoods, side mirrors, door handle cavities, door edges, rocker panels, and rear fender panels. Preserving the finish of your vehicle with paint protection film (PPF) keeps your vehicle looking newer longer, and can enhance the resale value of your vehicle in the future. Protect todays brittle paints from rock chips, bug acids, magnesium chloride and countless other road hazards.

Does paint protection film carry a warranty?

Yes, Suntek Ultra film comes with a manufacturer 10 year warranty against peeling ,bubbling, and yellowing. We stand behind our work to ensure complete customer satisfaction. We would not deliver a vehicle to a customer that we would not be absolutely satisfied on our own vehicles.

Can paint protection film be removed?

Yes, The paint protection film is designed as a semi-permanent application and can be removed if desired. We recommend professional removal.

How dark can I tint my windows?

In Colorado the current tint laws are 27% or lighter on the two front side windows. We offer a 30% film if you're looking to keep it legal. This number is the percentage of light that enters through the tinted glass. We suggest not going to dark as it can be difficult to see at night.

How much does it cost to tint my windows?

Most complete vehicles can be tinted within a range of $150-$250 depending on the size of the vehicle and the number of windows. Some more complex vehicles can be slightly higher. Tinting two windows is even less. We use Suntek® High Performance series film as our standard film. This film carries a lifetime warranty.

I just had my windows tinted, why do they look hazy?

The moisture that remains between the film and the glass after installation can cause a hazy, streaky, blotchy appearance. It takes several days for the adhesive/film to completely cure. The remaining moisture will evaporate through the film; depending on the type of film, this process may take a couple of days, or even a couple of months. When the water evaporates completely, your windows should have excellent clarity.

What should I use to clean my windows after they are tinted?

After window film installation, wait a week before cleaning the inside of the window where the film was installed. After a week, use a an ammonia-free window cleaner  and a soft cloth. We recommend ammonia-free foam cleaners because they do not streak, and are usually ammonia-free. Never scrape the film with any type of blade or clean your tinted windows with anything abrasive, as it will scratch the film.

How long should my vehicle wrap last?

Normally, a vehicle wrap will last between 4 to 6 years on the vehicle depending on conditions, care and overall treatment. At Elements Media, we use the very best products available in the industry. Each component is backed with a proven warranty. Vinyls have 5 – 6 year manufacturer warrantees while latex inks have a range of 3 – 7 years. We also use lamination that acts as a protective film against many abrasive cleaning applications and protects the print from minor scratches and regular wear-and-tear.

Can a vehicle wrap be removed?

Absolutely. The wrap is actually applied to the vehicle using heat and pressure-sensitive adhesives that can be reactivated and removed by our installers. The removal process is short and does not damage the vehicle. It is important to remove the wrap before it degrades.

How do I care for my vehicle wrap?

We recommend hand washing your vehicle with a non-abrasive sponge, soap and water. Avoid using a pressure washer, it could cause the vinyl to tear or seems to peel. If you must use a pressure washer keep a distance of at least 3 feet to prevent lifting edges. Avoid using ice scrapers on the windows that have perforated vinyl.

Will a vehicle wrap cause damage to a vehicles paint?

No. On the contrary, the vinyl will actually serve as a protective layer over the paint. This makes vinyl vehicle wraps ideal for leased vehicles. A vinyl wrap can also increase the resale value of your vehicle. Removal should always be done by a trained professional and before vinyl degrades.
